Anna Nicole’s ex boyfriend, and the guy whom many say they actually beleive is the father of her baby girl Dannilynn out of the plethora of ex lovers coming forward saying the child is theirs (how many guys was she with, jeez?), Larry Birkhead, has had a minor victory in court recently with the judge on his paternity case with the now deceased Anna Nicole approving that her body stay preserved for DNA testing for now until further notice.
This has all been an ongoing saga, with four men claiming to be little Dannilynn’s father. I’ve never seen so many claim to be a baby’s father - isn’t it usually the other way around, where all potential fathers are running for the hills? Makes one wonder what these guys intentions are for the baby - do they just want to get their hands on Anna Nicole’s money? Anna cannot even get peace in death it seems, and her name will still be making headlines for months to come in what promises to be a long, drawn out battle for whose the baby’s father, which is just sad, very sad.
The latest guy to come forward is Anna Nicole’s bodyguard, who claims the two had a torrid affair for the past two years (while she was also supposedly with Larry Birkhead, and Zsa Zsa Gabor’s hubbie, and supposedly Howard K Stern too, which not many people believe) and believes he may very well be the father of Dannilynn. Can I just say, this is just a disgusting display? I mean, if these men were really in it for the good of the baby, it would be a good thing, but why are they now coming out of the woodwork, now that Anna Nicole is dead and her money is up in the air? Disgusting, revolting, and horrid.

I tried watching the Harrison Ford movie “Firewall” on HBO the other night while I was preparing my taxes, and man, I just could not keep interest in this dull, formulaic movie. I love Harrison Ford, always have. I’ve been a huge fan of him ever since his Star Wars and Indiana Jones days, but this movie just seemed like it was thrown together without much thought, and actually was very predictable.
Paul Bettany, the British actor perhaps best known for his role alongside Russell Crowe in a Beautiful mind as his imaginary friend, plays the villain in this movie, and we quickly find out that he is the villain, all with some poorly thrown together foreshadowing at a meeting in a fancy restaurant where Bettany seems to all but come out and say he is the villain before we find out for sure. Again, predictable.
I think this movie could have been better, perhaps if it was a little grittier, and not so family friendly, but during the movie, I was not convinced that this man and his family were in iminent danger, nor did I care if they were. The kids were actually annoying, the wife, played by Virginia Madsen, whom I usually like, just wasn’t given much to work with. In short, I thought it was a dud, and ended up turning it off about 45 minutes into it.

The return of one of my favorite shows to watch, “Lost” is here, and it did not disappoint, at least not me! With the last show of the short “season” (which by the way, annoys me, and many shows are doing this now for some reason after Lost started the trend), being somewhat of a disappointment to me, I was hoping the new episode would have a little more depth to it, some more answers, and indeed it seemed to hint to some answers.
We saw the further character development of Juliet, who I feel is an excellent actress, and am glad that she was given a bigger part this season, or so it seems thus far. We saw that Juliet has a sister who appears to be terminally ill. We find out that Juliet’s medical specialty and claim to possible fame and desire by the folks on the island to recruit her, is that she can impregnate ill women and even males (mice that is), who seem to have no hope of ever getting pregnant.
We find out that she successfully impregnated her terminally ill sister, and was subsequently recruited by a new man that we’ve never seen before, and Ethan, whom we now know is dead from the beginning of this season. The man comes back to recruit Juliet after her ex husband, the only barrier to Juliet coming to work for the research firm, is killed by a bus (which we don’t know, but this is foreshadowed in the beginning of the show).
The mystery deepens when the man who recruits Juliet alludes to the fact that while the research firm is located in Portland OR, it is somehow “not accessible” to anyone. We are left with that. It was a great episode, and Juliet was the main focus of this one. I’m hoping we get some more answers to string us along the hopeless Lost mystery!

I recently sat down on a Saturday afternoon, and, having nothing else to watch, put the Charlize Theron critically acclaimed movie called “North Country” on from HBO On Demand. I have to say, overall, it was not a bad movie. Charlize did a great job acting, as I always think she does, and the other actors were greating supporting actors, including Francis McDormand as her coworker and close friend and Sean Bean who played Francis McDormand’s husband was also a great supporting role.
Charlize plays a single mom, who we see leaves her abusive a-hole husband or boyfriend (we assume at first he’s the father of both her children but find out later that’s not the case), and goes back to a small northern town to live with her traditional, rigid mom and dad who think she’s kind of a screw up. Her mother (played by Sissy Spacek, another great supporting role), actually says she shouldn’t provoke him and needs to go back to him.
We see Charlize pick herself up and go get a job at a local coal mine where there are almost no female workers, and they just started to be allowed to work there. She finds the money is good, and she can buy a modest house and support her boy and girl while working there. What ensues is based on a true story about the landmark sexual harrassment case at the coal mine raised by Charlize, and then later corroborated by her other female coworkers.
The only complaint I have about this movie, without giving anything away, is that some of the situations seem just plain overdone and simply ridiculous. It almost seems overblown to the point where you think “now who would say that, really?” I’m sure the movie took creative license, but in this aspect sometimes it does go a little far and reaches the point of disbelief.
