I have to admit, I was a little bummed to see the recent news that Kate Winslet, the talented British actress of Titanic and several other high and low budget films (most much better than Titanic, just not as high grossing) and her director husband Sam Mendes. Both hail from the UK, and both are very talented in the entertainment industry and seemed to be largely unaffected by it.

They kept their relationship out of the tabloids, which is respectable for the Hollywood lifestyle, and for people who have had connections to such critically acclaimed work. My favorite movie by Sam Mendes is American Beauty, which was his breakout directorial premier, and he also recently directed his (now maybe ex) wife in Revolutionary Road with Leonardo DiCarprio.

I still need to see that movie, and it’s high in my cue, now I really want to see it, not only because I’m a huge fan of both actors, but I would like to see another one of Mendes’ films because I was a fan of American Beauty.

There is really no dirt on why they broke up, but they have apparently been split up for a while, and just now announced the news.  It’s sad that so many marriages end in divorce when it seems like people are so well suited for one another. In Hollywood, divorce is at even higher rates than it is out here in the “normal world”, and many credit the pressures on Hollywood stars with attention from media, but I think that it has a lot more to do with career-mindedness and ego if you ask me. 

I think us regular folks already struggle with this, but in Hollywood, they struggle with this even more because of the pressure to keep producing, to one up, etc. etc. because the competition is so fierce.

I won’t even disrespect these two talented people by speculating, but I hope maybe they can work it out, especially since there are children involved.  Good luck to both of them, and may they keep their private business private…..

Well, it certainly appears that neither Richie Sambora, nor his estranged wife, Heather Locklear, are doing very well after their divorce just a few short years ago.  Although the exact reason for their divorce wasn’t really laid out there for the public, it seems that an affair with Heather’s supposed friend and neighbor, Denise Richards, may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.  It’s either that or they started dating very soon after the marriage fell apart, but that relationship didn’t last (surprise surprise).

Now, a few years after Richie and Heather have parted ways, it doesn’t seem as though either of them is doing very well.  For example, Richie was just recently picked up and charged with a DUI, with his ten year old daughter Ava and a friend in the car no less.  You can imagine this doesn’t go over very well in the public eye and certainly doesn’t go over well with whoever’s been working with Richie on his sobriety, which he has acknowledged publicly he has a problem with and is struggling to overcome with help. 

Then, there were just reports of Heather having a run in with alleged suicidal thoughts.  It was reported, although never confirmed true to my knowledge that Heather had phoned into her therapist sounding as though she may harm herself.  This is said, especially since Heather Locklear seems like one of those people who has it so together.  We all truly are vulnerable though, I’ll admit that I’ve been vulnerable in my life too, it’s just tough to see such an obviously well rounded and ambitious women struggling with what seems like depression. 

Alec Baldwin.  I don’t know whether to feel sorry for the guy that an incredibly embarrassing and not most shining moment personal voice mail message was released in definite malicious intent, or whether to feel more sorry for his daughter with actress Kim Basinger, Ireland, for having to endure the publicity that her father talked to her this way. 

The fact is, we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes here.  Alec was apparently very hurt by the fact that his daughter appears to favor her mother, but he definitely shouldn’t have said the nasty things he did to a twelve year old girl.  Also, I’m not so sure, but if Kim Basinger did have anything to do with the release, should she really have done this, out of respect both to her daughter and her ex? 

Even though they are involved in a bitter custody battle over their daughter, it seems dirty all the way around.  I really hope their daughter isn’t too damaged by all this.  What are the kids at school going to say? 

I mean I don’t know a person who doesn’t know about and hasn’t heard this call, so I’m sure it’s made the rounds among her friends.  And what a delicate age that is, to have something that embarrassing and private aired. 

Boy, I’d feel like an idiot for saying all this if it ends up she’s the one who wanted it released to get back at dear old dad!  It’s a sad situation….my heart goes out to her and obviously there is a lot of pain in this celebrity split. 

Jude Law and Sienna Miller, the super-sexy British couple who’ve had a rocky relationship for a few years, have reportedly decided to call it quits for good.  The two say the decision was a mutual one, and that this is probably for good.  We’ll see about that….these two almost seem to be addicted to one another.

Their relationship first fell apart after Jude was caught messing around with his kid’s nanny and publicly embarrassed Sienne.  On the other hand, Sienna has been quoted as saying that monogamy is an unrealistic virtue and that we’re all “animals”, so did she really care that much?

One thing is for sure, these two could have had some gorgeous little babies, with their gene pool.  Oh well, another one bites the dust.  C’est la vie in hollywoodland. 

Remember last month, when all of these allegations about Sir Paul McArtney being less than a gentleman in his marriage to Health Mills McArtney?  Well, she is pretty mad that this supposedly and presumable false information about her husband being cruel and even emotionally abusive to her coming out in the “divorce papers” that were supposed to be confidential.  Apparently they either were completely false, or she is hopping mad that someone got ahold of the information. 

I’m glad she is coming out against this, because isn’t it hard for any of us to accept that Paul McArtney, whom we all think of as the proverbial nice guy, could have done such cruel and abusive things to his wife?  I for one had a hard time swallowing that.  Let’s face it, Celebrity couples have a really hard time keeping their relationships out of the limelight.  Call it the ultimate price for fortune and fame I guess….

I’ve also heard that Stella McArtney may be coaxing her father into writing a tell all book about the marriage as a strike back at the heavy allegations that came out against him, but I’m hoping now that the fists are down, he will reconsider, and keep it private, as he’s recently said, he wants to keep a sense of dignity about the divorce, and that would be against everything he stands for, it seems. 

It looks like it may be Splitsville for Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe.  The celeb couple officially announced their separation, but no plans for immediate divorce have been announced. 

Rumors about trouble in their relationship have circulated for a while now, but who don’t they circulate about in Hollywood?  The couple married young, as a matter of fact, Reese met Ryan when she was just 21 years old, and she’s now 30. 

They married about two years after they met, and they’ve been married now for 7 years, which is practically a record breaking marriage in today’s fickle Hollywood marriages and relationships.  They have two kids, Deacon and Ava. 

Rumors were fueled further after Reese openly admitted they seeked out couples counseling before and Ryan had hinted to distancing himself from his family on purpose for the filming of a new movie saying something about how it keeps more mystery in a relationship if you go your separate ways more often.  I have to say I agree with that, but when there are children involved, I’m not so sure that should be the way someone feels about their family. 

It’s too bad this adorable couple are going through a rough period, you really hoped they’d get through their marriage since they have two young kids, and they didn’t seem like the type of swingin’ partying couple that liked to party all night at Hollywood parties, they seemed more “grounded”. 

Another rumor about the tension is that it may have been due to Reese’s skyrocketing stardom and Ryan’s less fueled Hollywood career, although he did do some excellent work in movies, he has yet to achieve the same commercial and critical acclaim as his wife. 

Pretty country music star Sara Evans, who bowed out of this season’s “Dancing with the Stars” amid divorce and personal issues may be facing a fairly ugly divorce. Her hubbie is a former politician, and they have three kids together.

It’s sad to see the former Beatle Paul Mcartney going through a divorce, and a bitter one at that, but one has to think that it wasn’t only his estranged wife’s fault (she’s been dragged through the mud as a gold digger before). 

In court documents that were supposed to be confidential but somehow “leaked” Mills makes some pretty bad accusations about Mr. Mcartney’s character, which he is expected to deny vigorously through his attorneys. 

In one she says that he would not allow her to breast feed their infant Beatrice because he said her breasts were “his”.  Another said that in a heated fight he tried to stab her with a broken wine bottle.  And in yet another accusation she claims that he still did drugs after their marriage even though he promised to quit after the marriage, and they had a baby together. 

There were probably more lurid details in the proceedings, but maybe those somehow stayed confidential – who knows.  One has to wonder how these legal documents always get leaked allover the place.  Could it be strategy?

And, more news from the land of who gives a crap worthless news.  Yes, these two publicity hos are at it again.  The twosome who were formerly best friends forever and bitterly split after feuding over something neither of them would confirm. 

It appears all is well in the land of rich girls Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie again, either that or these two are masterfully manipulating the media.  But I doubt it.  The two were even snapped in a photo looking pretty chummy, and since they wouldn’t even stay at the same club for a year, I’d say things are on the mend with these two partying, socialites.

Not only were Paris and Nicole spotted eating and text messaging together at a hot Hollywood hangout, they reportedly went back to Paris’ home in Hollywood Hills and had a sleepover….. Looks like these two are going to be BFF after all.  Until one of their stars eclipses the others again….oy. 

Some tabloids and reports are saying the the couple that technically never openly admitted they were even an item, might be over. 

Jennifer Anniston and Vince Vaughn, America’s “sweetheart” couple, may have gone their separate ways, some reports are saying.  Even though no one is confirming or denying the split, or confirming or denying an engagement rumor, or the return of the engagement ring in question.  Are you confused?  I am….
