In a surprise move, because I don’t think anyone gave it a second thought about the quirkily beautiful Anna Paquin, the star of True Blood who also happens to be dating her vampire costar, Anna came out as being a bisexual woman. She came out in support of other gay and bisexual people who feel that they can’t say anything about their sexuality because they are afraid of what people will think. She even says that she was afraid she might be fired from certain jobs or looked down upon if she came out with her true sexual nature in the press.

But the talented actress (although I skewered the second season of True Blood, I couldn’t stand it for the most part, not because of her but because of the terrible writing) decided that enough was enough and she thought that if she could come out and show people it was ok to be honest, she would help those that felt like they were being censored.

It still surprises me that people feel ashamed to come out in this day and age, but certainly there is still a lot of anti gay and bisexual sentiment that labels you as something you really aren’t even in other facets of your life.  The group she came out for, their goal is to end those false perceptions and help people who have different sexual taste than the average hetero male of female be free to state that, eventually without fear of retaliation or false impressions of their talent, work ethic, and morals.

Another reason why some may be surprised is that she is happily dating, and engage to marry, her costar that many of the ladies find attractive Stephen Moyer, who plays her love interest, the vampire Bill, in True Blood, which is based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels, about a character that Anna plays in the series.

I really hope that True  Blood gets back on track when it comes back on HBO in the fall. I’ll be bummed if not. It started off as promising and different, and the characters all just seemed to implode and the plots seemed to take ridiculous and totally uninteresting twists in the second season. It became almost an obligation to watch whereas before in the first season I looked forward to it every week, like I did to “Lost”.

I was really disappointed to read this morning about a possible scandal involving America’s sweetheart (and yes, I love her too, she just seems so down to earth and unaffected) Sandra Bullock and her gearhead entrepreneur husband Jesse James.  Bullock and James married several years ago, in what seemed like a bit of an odd pairing. However, the couple seemed clearly in love  and in support of one another any time you heard either talk about the other, or saw them together.

As a matter of fact, James looked like he was choked up just days ago when Sandra accepted the best actress award for her movie The Blindside, which is based on a true story.

However, as a true shock, this morning there were reports that the marriage may be on the rocks, at least as of now, because a tattoo model named Michelle McGee.  I would have thought this may have just been someone asking for attention because of the impression I had of their marriage being solid, but there is even more question and suspicion since Sandra abruptly announced she would be missing her London premier of the Blindside.

This drew even more speculation that what seemed like a common tabloid fantasy may have been based in truth.  All I can say is, I hope the public gives them time to sort out this very private matter on their own. And Jesse, seriously, what the hell were you thinking?  You’ve got a gorgeous, talented, intelligent, funny and down to earth wife who is very famous and still has her head on straight.  Get your head out of your ass man!

Heath Ledger was undeniably an extremely talented actor.  I mean, he IS the reason I was excited to see the next Batman film.  His turn as the Joker looked fascinatingly dark and intriguing in the trailer for the movie, and I’m sure that he was the main reason why so many people were already excited about the next Christopher Nolan film that was coming out, that and the fact that Nolan is an extremely talented director and story teller. 

Heath’s untimely death this week was a tragic loss and shocking event for the public, and no doubt heart wrenching and numbing experience for his loved ones.  I think that his death has really struck a cord with the American public because he is an actor that was taken off this earth in the prime of his life, when it looked as though he had nailed another role and would most likely receive recognition and undying respect from Hollywood, and it seemed he was also at an excellent place in his personal life, with a beautiful young daughter whom he reportedly doted on.

As for the roles I’ve seen Heath in, he has never been anything short of an amazing actor, and I admired the fact that he seemed to keep himself and his family out of the tabloids, instead opting for a low key life in Brooklyn. 

My prayers go out to his family. 

Vaness Hudgens can’t seem to catch a break lately.  First, there were those racy pictures of her in the nude that were plastered allover the internet, and an embarrassing apology from Disney and the star herself for “disappointing” her fans.  Then her ex lawyer brought a lawsuit against the young star, claiming that he had helped to develop her now successful career and was not compensated for that development adequately after she fired him.

The lawyer is asking for about $150 thousand dollars in restitution and claims that she breached a contract she signed with him.  Her argument is that she signed the contract when she was still a minor, just 16 years old, and that should negate the contract since she in essence was not of age to enter into a legally binding contract like that. 

We’ll probably hear more about this, but it’s looking like Vaness might have the upper hand.  You just never know what kind of loopholes there might be in the legal system and the laws though, and the guy who’s suing her is an attorney so we can assume that he thinks he has a good case or he wouldn’t have brought the suit against the rising star in the first place. 

Bravo to Tobey McGuire, who catapulted to instant overnight success as a big box office actor with the making of the first Spider Man movie, the most successful comic book adapted franchise to date which spawned the making of countless other comic book based movies that tried to duplicate the success and the relatability of the Spider Man movies, but most failed.

My boyfriend sure does love this trend of comic book movies.  He’s an avid comic reader, and he also collects original comic art, so for him this era of film making is practically a dream come true.  Mcguire has somehow managed to escape the throngs of paparazzi that so many other stars of his caliber have to deal with, and yet he seems so normal, with a fiance and a baby, both of whom you barely ever see.

McGuire has said in interviews that he refuses to discuss his personal life, and that anything about his movies he’s trying to promote is fair game, but his private life is off limits.  And that’s how celebrity privacy is achieved.  Voila.  Paris Hilton should learn from Tobey McGuire.  Oh wait, she loves all the attention, forget it.

Tobey reportedly hasn’t yet signed on for another Spider Man movie after this summer’s Spider Man 3, and he hasn’t really let on whether he intends to or not.  He has said he likes to play diverse characters though, so maybe this is it for him.  I’m sure he’ll find success in whatever movies he acts in, because he truly is a gifted actor with great diversity. 

Anna Nicole’s ex boyfriend, and the guy whom many say they actually beleive is the father of her baby girl Dannilynn out of the plethora of ex lovers coming forward saying the child is theirs (how many guys was she with, jeez?), Larry Birkhead, has had a minor victory in court recently with the judge on his paternity case with the now deceased Anna Nicole approving that her body stay preserved for DNA testing for now until further notice.

This has all been an ongoing saga, with four men claiming to be little Dannilynn’s father.  I’ve never seen so many claim to be a baby’s father – isn’t it usually the other way around, where all potential fathers are running for the hills?  Makes one wonder what these guys intentions are for the baby – do they just want to get their hands on Anna Nicole’s money?  Anna cannot even get peace in death it seems, and her name will still be making headlines for months to come in what promises to be a long, drawn out battle for whose the baby’s father, which is just sad, very sad.

The latest guy to come forward is Anna Nicole’s bodyguard, who claims the two had a torrid affair for the past two years (while she was also supposedly with Larry Birkhead, and Zsa Zsa Gabor’s hubbie, and supposedly Howard K Stern too, which not many people believe) and believes he may very well be the father of Dannilynn.  Can I just say, this is just a disgusting display?  I mean, if these men were really in it for the good of the baby, it would be a good thing, but why are they now coming out of the woodwork, now that Anna Nicole is dead and her money is up in the air?  Disgusting, revolting, and horrid. 

Word, or gossip, has it that the famous Britain couple’s reasons for moving to LA, the city of sin in the US, may be the strong friendship that has developed between the couple (more so Victoria) and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who are devout scientologists.  Some sources are supposedly saying the Victoria has strong designs on the US, more specifically she is wanting to conquer the US with a new fashion line.  And who better to do that than the “fashion” icon herself. 

Well, I’m not so sure about some of those styles she wears that bare her breasts with it seems like no bra, but whatever.  Speaking of Posh Spice, it seems she may have gotten a little lip plumping done lately, seems she’s sporting an Angelina-ish pout lately.  I’m not sure I like this woman, she seems like she just can’t get enough!  Hmm…..

Actress Julia Roberts, who has been noticeably absent from the Hollywood scene (good for her), after her marriage to cameraman Danny Moder and the birth of her twins Hazel and Phinnius, is reportedly expecting another child, although it is not clear how far along the actress is in her pregnancy.

Julia has been a long time favorite of America’s, and has really been a great role model in terms of not getting caught doing bad things and not being considered your typical Hollywood “party girl”, even in her earlier years of fame. She also stuck it out for years, and has remained an accomplished actress with bankability and acting chops (although I’ll admit, I’m usually not a fan of her films, except Pretty Woman and Erin Brokovich).  Good luck Julia! And keep being “normal” for all us people who are sick of over the top Hollywood types!

If you haven’t heard yet, Lindsay Lohan seems to be a tad off her rocker again, as she has sent yet another strange email to all of her friends and several lawyers, which somehow leaked out to the press. 

She sent an email, with several typos and even bad grammar, which attacked those who make up lies about her and don’t leave her life alone to be lived. 

She says they can’t get away with lying, yet never really pinpoints who the heck she is talking about.  Also, Lindsay claims that she talked to Al Gore (his reps say they talked briefly at a function where there were hundreds of other people), and he would “help her”.  Help her do what?

Britney’s wild, trashy behavior as of late doesn’t seem to be keeping people on her side in her whole Kevin Federline fiasca of a divorce.  Heck, I can’t stand the guy as most people can’t, but I’m beginning to wonder if Britney was also a deserving partner with her wild, unmotherly antics lately.

Now, she’s hanging out with the ultimate party girl herself, Ms. Paris Hilton, and she seems to be leaving her panties at home a lot, being photographed sans panties a few times causing fodder for the tabloids everywhere. 

Does she care?  Who knows…..I know it probably feels great to be free, since she is so young and all, but Brit, can you have some class – you do have two young little boys who will be old enough one day to read headlines!
